    Three distinguished speakers will share their robust experience in the areas of international risk, crisis management, and global branding: Brett Bruen - a former diplomat, member of the National Security Council, Director of the Global Engagement at the White House under President Obama, and current President of the Global Situation RoomMeredith Wilson - a former intelligence analyst at the Pentagon and CEO of Emergent Risk International, and Brady Roberts - a former officer who spent 16 years at the CIA, and current Director of Marketing and Customer Relations at Emergent Risk International.


    Brett Bruen will lead two crash courses in Global Marketing and Counter Crises. As Director of Global Engagement at the White House, Bruen was responsible for public diplomacy programs, international media, crisis communications, and global entrepreneurship. He is now a leading expert on counter-crisis management theory, a term he coined during his time on the U.S. National Security Council. While at the White House, Brett coordinated the United States’ response to Russian propaganda, developing the first inter-agency communications task-force to push back against misinformation. When more than 200 school girls were kidnapped in Nigeria, Bruen created a new campaign called Let Girls Learn, featuring top celebrities. He also built the President’s Spark Global Entrepreneurship initiative that raised billions for emerging entrepreneurs around the world. Now as a leading entrepreneur, Brett Bruen shares his experience and message with audiences everywhere. Mr. Bruen’s overall message addresses universal issues, gleaning insight into the importance of cooperation, collaboration, and compromise. He emphasizes the efficiency of strategic communication and following your passions.





    Meredith Wilson brings over two decades of international experience (Australia, the UK, Ireland, Vietnam, Malaysia) in the energy sector, corporate America, and the U.S. intelligence community. Ms. Wilson will be briefing Global Chamber’s guests on developing intelligence techniques to protect overseas brands. After leaving the federal government, Ms. Wilson built a strategic intelligence program at ConocoPillips, worked in regulatory affairs, and structured a political risk program at Kosmos Energy. She suggests that businesses synchronize their risk mitigation with the latest global trends, while also keeping a sharp eye on political leadership, cyber-threats, regulatory burden, and climate change.








    We are also excited to host Brady Roberts who will share insights on foreign crises case studies from his time working South Asia, the Middle East, and Central Europe. Mr. Roberts is passionate about helping innovative businesses in the field and has translated his almost two-decade long experience with the CIA into valuable advice for those trying to navigate the “modern risk landscape.” A consultant for security technology start-ups, Mentor of Austin, Texas-based cyber security new venture studio Manifest, Mr. Roberts sits on the advisory board of Emergent Risk National, a premier cyber enterprise risk management, strategy and innovation firm.

    DALLAS, TX -- From energy companies that pledge to protect the environment, to legal corporations that prioritize pro bono services, coupling success with doing good has become contagious. “In seeking happiness for others, you find it for yourself,” as the old saying goes, has continued to inspire businesses throughout the world. In the same spirit, on May 2nd, from 6-8pm, Global Chamber® Dallas will host an evening of learning about some of humanity's greatest challenges and how social impact organizations and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are tackling them. We’ll also be sharing future opportunities for movers and shakers in the Dallas impact community.

    The event will feature two engaging speakers with innovative approaches to business: Brett Bruen - a former diplomat, member of the National Security Council, Director of the Global Engagement at the White House under President Obama, and current President of the Global Situation Room, and Kyle Lukianiuk - a social entrepreneur and finance guru turned President of the Good Returns Network.

    Although much of his expertise focuses on national security, specifically counter-crisis management (CCM), Mr. Bruen brings his diplomatic experience at the networking and negotiations table. When almost three hundred Nigerian school girls were kidnapped in April 2014, for example, he created “Let Girls Learn,” a well-targeted social media campaign featuring top celebrities. Bruen's passion for entrepreneurship materialized through Spark Global Entrepreneurship, his White House “initiative that raised billions for emerging entrepreneurs around the world." Mr. Bruen advises businesses to use comparative approaches informed not only by statistics, but also by cultural features and perceptions. Language and semantics, he believes, can help read the cultural mindset of trading partners. Intimate, well-rounded knowledge, Mr. Bruen argues, is what helps businesses secure good deals and good deeds.

    Dallas, TX, February 28, 2018 -- Global Chamber® Dallas is excited to announce its first partnership with the U.S. - China Foreign Trade Center.   While the organization has hosted events on business in Asia in the past, this will be the first trade event in partnership with the China Foreign Trade Centre, in an effort to promote The Canton Fair and give the DFW businesses the scoop on import-export opportunities with China. This one of a kind initiative will be held on March 6th, 2018, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm CDT, at The Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.



    Set to start in mid-April, The China Import and Export Fair, also known as “The Canton Fair,” in Guangzhou is “co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and People’s Government of the Guandong Province, and organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre.” With a long uninterrupted tradition, The Canton Fair has been notorious both for its grandiose scale and comprehensive display, attracting a vast array of international buyers and exhibitors, and generating huge business turnover in China. The accumulated export volume to date has amounted to about USD 1.2635 trillion, while the total number of overseas buyers has reached 8.03 million. The fair has tallied 25,000 exhibitors, 200,000 buyers, and 210 countries represented each year.


    A representative from the China Foreign Trade Centre will discuss the Canton Fair via video conference, and there will be a panel of experts in person to discuss “Managing Challenges of Doing Business in China”. This discussion will be moderated by Steve Boenick from Hillwood Properties. With his vast expertise in global supply chains, urban development, and international investment, Mr. Boenick will guide the conversation with the event’s distinguished guests that will discuss law, foreign currency, exporting and business in general.  Guest speakers include Mei Zhang, associate in the Real Estate Practice Group in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone, Gary MacDowell, Executive Vice President of Global Sales of Dollamur Sport Surfaces, Dr. Chunke Su, Associate Professor, at the UTA Department of Communication, and Oscar Arriaza, Senior Vice President at Bank of Texas.
